Countdown to Christmas: Day 1

1 Dec

The countdown to Christmas has begun!

We have a special friend that came to live at our house.  Apparently, he’s a naughty elf who was causing all sorts of trouble at the North Pole…It’s unclear whether Rudolph will recover or if they’ll be enough Furbys produced to annoy satisfy everyone.  So Santa sent him to live at my house since I’m such a good boy.  I have to teach him how to behave and mind his manners and not to get into mischief.

Elf

We picked him up today.  I’m already annoyed with him.  He refused to sit in his car seat and kept jumping on Daddy’s head.  I did try to feed him strawberries and chips, but he politely declined.

His name is Klaus.  He’s an ORIGINAL elf on the shelf from when Daddy was little.  10 points to anyone who *gets* the name…

Book

Apparently, I also get to open a new book EVERY NIGHT before bedtime.  Mommy and Daddy weren’t sure about my present opening skills, but I ripped that paper right off without any prompting.  Babies are born with the innate ability to unwrap presents, trick-or-treat, find any chocolate in the house, and wake up at the exact right time to interrupt adult special cuddle time.

I ran right over to Mommy and tackled her (for reals) and said, “Read me a story, Clown.” (That part may have only happened in my head.)  Another 10 points if you get the movie reference!

Rejected Christmas Card Picture

And after two hours and 3 different sessions of trying to get a good Christmas card picture, I have plenty of rejects to share.  So each day, for your viewing pleasure, enjoy a Family Photo FAIL.

At Dawn We Ride!…to get more Oreos.  Cause I ate the ones for Santa. Come on, it was staged.  We weren’t really going to leave them out all month until Santa comes. Right, Mom? Right?!

P.S. Did you read that. Oreos? Me! I got Oreos!  My life is now complete.

Oh, and 3rd movie reference for 10 additional points…

Love the “reject” Christmas card photo! I think it would be cute to put an approved photo on the front and a collage of rejects on the back!
